Nightforce or not

I am reatively new to over 300 yard shooting. I currently shoot a custom 300 RUM with a #5 Lilja & a Swarovski 4X12X50 TDS. I am setting up a Sendero SF II. This will be a dedicated long range paper puncher & eventually a hunting gun as well. Most of the hunting with the SF II will be in a sendero or bean field. I am torn on optics as this will be my first go around with turrets. Low light performance is important. I have been very pleased with my Swaro's & TDS's, but want to shoot farther & turrets seem to be the way to go. I eventually want to shoot out to 800 yds. I know it will take a lot of pratice.

I have only seen one Nightforce NXS in the Memphis area, not many stocking dealers here. Should I bite he bullet & get a Nightforce? I am leaning toward the 5.5X22X50. What do you guys think. Thanks

Re: Nightforce or not

Me and Bill Bailey are stocking dealers for them. We cover shipping as well. currently I have the 5.5-22x50mm in the NPR-2 and MLR reticles in stock. Email either one of us or call 1-800-522-3314 for a price.

I own a 5.5-22 NF on my 270AM and it is absolutely amazing. The clarity, color transfer, and light gathering ability is stunning to say the least. The illuminated reticle is astounding and just knowing that your clicks are 100% true is a great feeling.

All in all they are just great scopes

take it easy

I like the NF scopes as well. I have the 3.5-15x50 and the 5.5-22x50, both are very nice scopes.

Go with the Nightforce NXS, I own three. In my opinion, they are the best scope out there.

Re: Nightforce or not

A thing to consider is that at about age 40 your night vision begins to fade away and unlike other functions that start to fade also, Viagra doesn't help it. The 56 mm objective will gather more light than the 50mm. This will be at the expense of your check weld because of the higher ring required. To get back to your normal cheek weld you have to have some method of raising the comb.

Something to to think about

SHW,

I almost one of each of their scopes, the 5.5-22x50 NPR2 is absolutly my favorite piece of glass. Shell out the buck and never look back.
