Nightforce 2.5-10 x 32 NXS Compact

I am thinking of trying one of these out. I have purchased a second Tikka T3 in .243. I am going to mainly use it for coyote hunting, I already have one Tikka T3 in .243 setup with a Leupold VXIII 2.5-8x36. I just want to have two rifles that are close to the same. Once I find a rifle I really like I always get a second one just like it as a backup. Silly maybe, but its the way I am. I have always been a huge fan of Leupolds 2.5-8 scope. I thought about just getting another one but with all the talk about Nightforce scopes I thought it was time to try one out. I like the idea of a compact scope on a .243. It makes for a nice light rifle to carry all day. The Nightforce 2.5-10 will give me a little more power for longer shots.

What do you guys know about this specific scope. Do any of you have a Nightforce 2.5-10x32 NXS scope? I dont know anything about their reticles. What would you get for a reticle for coyote hunting with a .243?

Thanks for the help.

The Nightforce scopes in general are great scopes and will do the job. I have been playing with a Nightforce 2.5-10x32mm in my hands but have not used it yet. I really like the 0-stop feature on them, the glass is outstanding, the construction is very robust, and they look great. We have sold a few to our customer and they all really like them.

As for the reticle you can get a few choice. I only recommend two of them, the MIL-DOT and the NPR2 (MOA based). Iím a big fan of MIL on MIL and what I mean by that is I like a MIL Elevation and Wind turret with a MIL reticle.

I have a Sako that I would like a to put one on but it has a good scope on it already.

Here one I mounted to an AR10:

Does that scope have an illuminated reticle?

It sure looks nice on the gun.

I have put 4 of them on Sheep Hunter rifle packages .They are the best compact scope I have ever used. If you get one shell the extra $$ for the zero stop feature. I have used them in NPR2 reticle and favor it alot.

I agree the NP-R2 seams to be more popular but I like MIL on MILS. The MIL turret only takes two REVS to get to 1k were the MOA turret take 4 REVS and this is for a 308. The NPR2 lines for me are a little to thin were the Mil-Dot are a little thicker.

I plan on getting one....I'm reading up on reticles. I'm so used to the Leupold products that it's fun to just learn about all of the options and how they work. I really like the zero stop.

I talked with Shawn (Defensive Edge) today about getting a rifle made for my longer range applicatons. The rifle will be made for what I call long range. Certainly not long range for some here. I am looking to shoot out to 600 yards and do it well with a new 300 RUM. He suggested that I get a 3.5-15x50 NightForce for my long (longer) range application. I think that is going to be a great fit for the type of gun I am looking for.

The more I read the more I am impressed by the lack of negative things out there regarding NightForce. They seem to be a really solid scope.

    Thanks for all the help.
