I was going to ask the same thing.

Have to say I am intrigued. Sightron's reticles have been piss poor for my type of shooting in the past. My main gripe with them. Have to look into these a bit more. Too bad my dealer stopped carrying Sightron this year. :(

Re: New Sightron Recticles

Only questionable thing I see is the thickness of the vertical wire. Must be a misprint. More than likely a .3" on 24X and 1.2" on 6X. I really hope it's not a .7 on 24X, because that means it would cover 5" at 700 yds........too coarse for using holdover.[/QUOTE]

I'll bet that the reticle is the same thickness as the central DOT "H".

PS: Incase the Sightron SIIIs don't have the retical you need and some of you don't have deep pockets and want a scope that should have a reticle that will let you do what you want to do at long range how about a Wotac or Falcon? You can look at them here:

http://www.sightwonders.com/wotac.html

WOTAC or INTENCITY OPTICS ?????

http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubb...Number=1104362

Or you could look at the new Vortex PST scopes in FFP or SFP. I have had a 6-24x50mm PST FFP MOA with a Vortex Custom Turret since last summer and love it.

Re: New Sightron Recticles

In the diagram posted here, Subtension D has to be some kind of misprint. Unless I am severely mistaken it should not be possible for it to work the way it is printed and subtend a greater area at Max power than Min.

And just for clarity...they state all sub-tensions are in INCHES not MOA.

Oh, yes, I see that now. Thanks for the HU.
Yea, it's gotta be a misprint. Doesn't work that way.

Re: New Sightron Recticles

I called sightron to see if it was a missprint and they weren't sure, they had to check with the tech guy (actually forget what they called him) and they were supposed to get back to me and they didn't yet. So the other question I asked is if they do retical changes, they answered no. So I did a little more research and found a guy that everyone is suggesting to do a retical change, I think his name is Bill and his last name starts with a A (I can't remember everything is written down at work) I asked Bill if he could do it and I got the same answer no. He said because the Sightron reticals are between two pieces of glass and glued together and there is no way to change them. When I here back from Sightron I will let you all know.
