New Scope

I'm having a lot of trouble deciding what new scope to get. My B-day's coming up and I'm getting a new scope for my .223 varmint rifle. I really like the Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x40 SF. I've also looked at Weaver Grand Slam, Vortex Viper, and Nikon Monarch in similar power ranges. I can't decide. I've grown fond of Bushnell Elites, but never used any of the other scopes. Any help or info would be great.

I recently got that Bushnell 4200 and really like it so far. My problem with it is the limited amount of MOA adjustment, this may or may not be a problem for you depending on how far you want to shoot.

I can't speak for the others in your list, but I would recommend the Bushnell and a 20 MOA base. My previous scope was a 10x42 SS and the Bushnell is superior scope for sure, IMHO.

Thumbs up Why a Bushnell elite 4200 when you can ??????

I have two elite 4200 4x16x40 and a 6x24x40Mm. They're great scopes. But I also have a Elite 6500 2.5x16x50MM now that scope is "Bad to the Bone" Click on optic zone for best prices.

I won't bother replying because it will just mimic what the members above me have said in regards to the Elites

IronWorker, the 6500 has the same glass as the 4200's does it not? I've heard nothing to say otherwise. You have both, what do your eyes see?

zjfty9, end the pain and order the damn 6-24x50 You won't regret it. If you do most of your shooting to 6 or 700 yds, you won't need the 20moa base but no harm in getting one for those "just in case" moments. End the misery and order it.

The Optic Zone and Bruno's Shooter Supply are the only 2 I deal with. If one doesn't have what I need, the other gets called upon. Bruno's didn't have an Elite 3200 10x my cousin wanted, actually their distributor showed no longer available so it's not their fault so I checked availability with Optics Zone and they had 1, needless to say it's on the way. Amy @ Bruno's & Jon & Tammi @ The Optic Zone are all top notch people to deal with. It makes spending those big bucks so much easier.

Did I mention you should just go ahead and order? Let us know what you decided on! adios

The 4200 and 6500 do have the same glass...and yes I will be ordering the 6-24x50 right after I talk to my brother. He said through some sweet hook ups he might be able to get me a 6500 4.5-30 for the same price as the 6-24. Not holding my breath, but I don't want to miss that chance. Thanks for your help guys!!
