I don't think the x56 is much more and delivers more light (light gathering increases as the square of diameter).
I have three NF scopes, all with NP-R2. a 3.5-15x56, 5.5-22x56 and a 8-32x56 BR (with 1/8th shooting MOA clicks). I was really shocked when long range deer hunting last year that I wish I had mounted the 5.5-22 on my custom Kirby/Lilja 300 rum rather than the 3.5-15 ( I sent my Kirby/Lilja 338 RUM and the NF 5.5-22 to my nephew for his elk hunt).
The BR also lets you adjust the illuminated reticle, while the NXS require your to remove the cover to adjust the illumination.
They are great scopes, but when I'm stalking deer that move and are not at extreme range, I much prefer my Loopies with wide-duplex reticules. It takes a lot of practice to see the NP-R2 reticle in daylight.
A Ginormous advantage of the NP-R2 is that you only need to dial in at most 1 MOA (typically 4 clicks) as it has hold over/under lines every 2 MOA.
