Re: Need help

As soon as I sent that message I knew I should of put a price, $2000 max but I'm thinking of a Leupold which is around $1200. I'm looking at about a 500 to 700 yards maybe further. Iv been shooting/hunting for going on 20 years. But iv finally decided to try some long range so any info on optics and anything else would be great

Re: Need help

.300 WM, as there is a better selection of long range bullets available. Recoil is mild enough to allow you to enjoy using it without having to hang on for grim death. And you will deliver more killing energy way out yonder. I enjoy my .270's too but the .300 WM will outperform them at longer distances.
For hunting, it's worth a look at different brands of european scopes as their superior optics are invaluable in poor light. Prices are very reasonable at the moment.

Re: Need help

Hard to argue with Nightforce.

SWFA also makes a great scope for about $1300.00 non-illuminated. The illuminated model is a couple hundred more. The magnification ring is quite stiff, otherwise they're great.
