Re: MOA vs clicks

ok heres my \$0.0005 worth
I look at it alittle differant
for a 2.70 moa adjustment I would dial 11 clicks
4 clicks per Moa(all my scopes have 1/4 moa clicks) plus 3 for the 0.70
8+3+=11
or more simply put 2 moa plus 3 clicks for the 0.70(round up to .750)

all my scopes have three smaller marks between the moa numbered marks
I figure it at 1/4 moa so if a drop chart gives me a fraction number I dail to the nearest 1/4
my big problem is a drop program that only gives you clicks for adustment doing the math in my head while tring to get on a rock chuck at 820 yards is nto fun.

If it works for you use it. But this still overly complicates the issue. Thinking is clicks is counterproductive

BINGO! This is what I was saying. Small numbers and simple math make for the best field calculations.

Now that we are thinking in terms of MOA or Mils (you pick which one you like best) it is time to stop even dialing dope and start using those fancy reticles we pay the extra money for. If you are only using your reticle to range then you aren't using the reticle right. All of these fancy reticles that are on the market (mil-dot, Gen 2 XR, Gen 2 Mil-dot, MLR, etc....) allow for the shooter to engage targets rapidly without dialing dope. If the shooter isn't going to use these reticles they might as well just get a scope with a duxplex or target dot reticle.
