Re: Maxed out Elevation??

Eaglet and I were talking about you at lunch today.

Glad you got it. Good thing it was something that easy. Too bad your Savage isn't older, then you would have had the flat back and couldn't have put it on backwards.

Nice setup you got there. I have the left hand long action of the same gun. Mine's a 112FLVSS(no laminated stocks for us lefties). I'm also using the EGW and Burris XTR rings. All 3 make for a great combo.

Re: Maxed out Elevation??

LIS, don't feel to bad. I was installing a Nightfoce Direct Mount the other day, I put set it on the receiver and the holes didn't line up. My first though was that I had received the wrong one.

30 seconds later and a 180 degree twist I was in business. The 20 degree slant on those is most deceiving not to mention the integral lug that is supposed to go on the front of the action (I felt like a fool). but that's how we learn.

Glad it worked out for you.

Re: Maxed out Elevation??

I really like the set up. A bit on the heavy side, but I'll manage. I also installed a Harris Swiveling bipod withe leg notches. Now I have to find someone who sells the pod lock. I also realized (with a few love taps from the scope) that a muzzle brake might be in order. That and my wife wants to shoot it, because she thinks it's a pretty gun

MagMan, your on a roll. I was just doing a search and came up with the very same thing. I guess I'll go for the metal/steel, since the last thing I want is the nylon to snap off in frigid temps.

Thanks again MagMan!
