Long range scope - Long Range Hunting

What power scope would be good for hunting deer, anteplope out to 600/800 yards? Looking at Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16X42 or Leupold VXlll 4.5-14X40. Or would a 10 to12 power scope fine?

In the long run, you'll be happier with 14X-16X top end scope.

I vote for the VXIII, but make sure when you order to get the LR model, if you are planning to put turrets on it.
