Long range base setup model 70

I think at onr time I read somwhere if you use a model 70 base on the rear of a model 70 and put a rem 700 front on you would pickup something like 20 moa.I am not sure if this is correct or it may be on the 700 use a 70 front base......not sure. Any way i understand that there is no taper on the base but could u not use pos align rings from burris and be ok... now i know you can pickup a good deal of elavation with the inserts but if the rem front will give me another 20 on my Laredo i would like to try that as well.
