Re: Leupold scope mounts 1 piece or 2 piece scope mounts

Redbone,

I use and recommend one piece based for all my rifles. Simply because they have the potential to stiffen the receiver as they bridge the ejection port. How much this may effect consistancy, can't say but I like to think it helps. Also they tend to help keep the front and rear ring in alignment better then a two piece system.

The two piece does have its advantages as well though, lighter wieght and offers more access to the loading port of the rifle if needed.

The weight difference is not great but its there if your looking to build an ultra light rifle.

Good Shooting!!
