Re: I\'m sort of loathed to start this thread but......
Great stuff, Doug. I agree pretty completely with your entire rant! Which is why I've thrown my name in the hat for a FFP, MP-8, .1 Mil click scope. One thing though:

I use an IOR on my "walking around rifle" because I just couldn't get away with spending the money for another USO. I only wish it had 1/10th MIL clicks so the units of measure matched the MP-8 reticle. (Final Thought: For the life of me, I cannot understand why we continue to use two different units of measure on the same precision instrument. That's like building a house and using both meters and yards and to do it.)

I agree completely with the sentiment. However, if you haven't already you might want to measure those clicks. I recently picked up one of these (though a non-FFP, non-ill version) and the turrets say 1/2 MOA on them. But they actually measure 1/8 Mil per click. It's close enough most probably wouldn't notice (.45" vs .52" at 100 yds movement per click) but when you add a bunch of them up to shoot at long range it does add up.
In any case, I thought I'd let you know that my version of that scope, although it says one thing on the knob, what it really is does match the reticle. Though I'd rather have 1/10 Mil instead of 1/8 Mil as it makes the math easier...It all works out fine as long as you know what it is.
