I seek opinions on nightforce options

Broz is right on the base and rings. Good you took his advice. I have three NFs set up solidly on NF 20MOA steel bases and rings. That's the best way to go. Like they say "buy once and weep once."

I have a rather dumb question. Can I use those Leupold rings and bases to shoot 10 shots? The reason I am asking is because I just ordered the Nightforce bases and rings tonight, it will be a week before I get them. I am anxious to use this scope this weekend.

I am wondering if those rings would somehow damage the scope, or if it is just that accuracy might diminish using them because they are weak?

I just ordered the same scope but I went with the Seekins Precision 20MOA base and rings, Everything should be here on the 11th. I can't wait, Not that my Zeiss was a slouch I've just always wanted a NF.

Anyone using the Nighforce 2.5x10 here? I'm thinking about using that scope for 3-400 yards or less in wooded and shorter shooting distances.

Opinions? reticle?

Here is my group at 1000yds today. Finally found some time to actually go and shoot after the scope was mounted.

First 3 I was hitting, but I could not see them hit. The target is suppose to flip up and around but it didn't because those VLD's were just slicing right through. So I doped 1 MOA down, and 1 MOA to the left, and was hitting in the dirt to the left 3 shots. I should've doped .250 to the right, and I would've been more centered. I am happy with this! Good scope for me.
