Help me decide which scope

Looking for a scope for a Sendero 7mm mag and have narrowed it down. Hoping to get some opinions on the four.

Leupold Mark 4 4.5-14x50. Leupold's got the name, the rep, the following, etc. I like the TMR recticle in this model, but it's a little more than I want to spend. $1100 is the cheapest I've seen so far. If it's really worth it, I would drop the extra $. Anyone know if the Leupold's lifetime warranty applies to this one?

Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x44 or 50. I've read lots of good things about Zeiss and I like the transferable lifetime warranty. I've seen these for $800-$900 which I'm more comfortable spending. One thing I'm not sure about is the amount of elevation travel available. One site I read said ~42" (at what distance I don't know so that's not very useful), and another site said 75 MOA. I can't find anything on the Zeiss site about it. The maximum I would like to shoot is 1000 yards. After playing around with some ballistics programs, a 7mm mag round seems to have 250-350 inches of drop at that distance. If my calculations are correct, 350 inches at 1000 yards is about 33 MOA. Assuming I center my recticle, I would need 66 MOA of travel. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Sightron SIII, but the one thing I don't like is that it only comes in a 6.5-20 magnification range. Given that it is a SFP scope, I would rather not have to zoom in to 20x for my recticle hold over marks to be accurate.

The last one I've done some research on is the Vortex Viper. Not a lot out there about it, but what is out there seems to be pretty good. However, like the Sightron, it is only available in a 6.5-20 magnification range. Given the cheaper price, I could look past the mag range if it is comparable to anything listed above.

So there you have it. Right now I'm leaning more towards the Zeiss, but I'm just not sure about the elevation travel. Either way I'm open to anyone's opinins/exerperiences with any of the scopes listed. Look forward to hearing from you all.

I would not rule out the Clearidge Ultra XP5 4.5-22.5x50. It is a top quality scope at a very reasonable price. It can compete with any one of the scopes mentioned above. Just something to consider.

I think someone told you wrong or something. I just ordered an SIII 6-24x50LRMD. And yeah the only thing is that SFP. I'm pretty good when it comes to these types of things though, and will just remember 12x will be double the mil values, etc.

Re: Help me decide which scope

I bought a Zeiss 4.5x14x44 for my Remington 700 Sendero - 300 win mag. The longest shot I will take with this gun is in the 500 to 600 yard range. I am having a 338rum built - this gun I'm leaning towards a Nightforce NXS 3.5x15x50 - when the guns done if my budget doesn't allow for the NXS - I will get the Zeis for this gun also - only with the adjustable turrets.
I bought my Zeis from the Optic Zone. Best price - great service.
