If you are referring to what I was taught to be called a "positive load", where you over compensate your adjustment then bring it back down to your intended turret setting, then I would probably say it wouldn't be needed on the newer Leupold. However, if doing it boosts your confidence then I say go for it.
I do so because the Leupolds I have been issued over the years tended to favor such actions. Even if a newer scope is issued to me I still do it if nothing else but out of habbit. I should get my first Nightforce in the mail soon and I'm hoping to trust it enough not to worry about it. Seems almost every scope I've had over the past several years has failed, whether it was issued or a personal purchase.
Courage is just fear that has said it's prayers.
