Is there a trick to installing the inserts?

I am starting with the 0 moa inserts, do the inserts have to be lined up with the cap and base?

The inserts rotate with the scope tube when the scope tube is turned to level the reticle, does this matter if the gap in the inserts are not aligned with the ring gaps?

I don't think it should matter on the 0 inserts, but on a insert that alters where your scope is pointing it would make a big difference.

Get some alcohol and paper towels and Q tips and degrease everything real well, especially the threads in the rings.

Don't drink the rubbing alcohol either because decreasing your intestines is not a good idea.
