I think it all depends on how far you want to range. I believe the Swarovski laser rangefinder will range further than the Geovid. I was debating the same thing, and I checked the specs for the Geovid vs. the Swarovski. The Geovid says the accuracy is +- 0.5% past 763 Yards. That equates to +- 50 Yards @ 1000 Yds. Not accurate enough in my book. I just ordered the 10x42 SLC and Swarovski Laser Rangefinder from Doug @ CameraLand NY and got a pretty good deal. I don't know if I will like the SCL's compared to the EL's, but I figure that if I don't I can sell them and not take a loss and get the EL's.
Yeah, they weigh more, and it's two things to fumble with vs. one, but I thought the accuracy was the deciding factor. Better warranty as well.
I didn't look at the Zeiss ones at all - it never crossed my mind.
