best binos for $1000 and under

I am going to try to get behind the vortex razor as well as cabelas euro/meopta. Thanks for the replies.

    Important - Neither Leica nor Swarovski will honor warranty to second owner, don't know about others. I am looking at the new Leupold 8x binoc with integral rangefinder for $795.

    Kowa BD 42 is a keeper also. I just bought the 10x42s from Jerry Phillips at Phillips Optical for $450.

    Everyone knows the quality of the Kowa glass, and transferable lifetime warranty.

    they are great at dusk and optical quality is second to none.

    Vortex Razor is a excellent choice, not very pricey, but has high quality glass and performance is equal to high quality binos.

    I would also recommend the meostar 10X42. Compare them to the swaros on a resolution chart and you will agree. I have the Meopta branded version, but the Cabelas Euro version (Just a label switch on the identical binocular) retails for just $799.99. I even think Cabelas throws in shipping for free.

    Meopta private labels the Cabelas Euro. Meopta Meostar uses a better grade glass than the Euro. I have the Meopta Meostar 10x42 and they are very bright.

    Vortex razor is high quality with a good price tag to match it but, if i were you i would check some these options out in your situation and see what fits best.
