best binos for $1000 and under

I am looking at Zeiss Conquest ABK, Steiner Merlin, Peregrine, and Predator, and Burris Euro Diamond. Dose anyone have any experience with any of these or any other suggestions. I am looking for 8 or 10 by 40 power. Thanks.

You might consider adding Nikon XL's and Minox to your list.

Steiner Peregrine 10x42 (just shy of $1K) or the Peregrine XP 10X44 which goes for a about $1500.

I had a Steiner Merlin 8x42 which was definately the best value for money optics I've ever owned, which I got duty free in Singapore for less than $300.

black rifle,

Take a look at Meopta. They are a 74 year old company from the Czech Republic but have only been in the US market since 2004. They have a lifetime and transferable warrenty. They private lable for several companies as well as offering their own line of optics, which use their best quality glass.
Meopta offers the Meostar 10x42 #467780 with their best glass. The Meopta optically outperformes the Swarovski SLC 10x42 from the side by side comparison I made, having better resolution and true color.
MSRP is $979.00.

I would also suggest to take a look at Vortex Razor.

razor

I would second the call to check out the razor by vortex. I got some 10x42 2 weeks ago and have been thrilled with the performance. would I rather have the swaros... yes but for have the price they were better than the brunton epochs and the kales both of which were way more money
