Best $300-$400 Fixed Power Scope?

Seems like I see a lot about SWFA SS scopes on here and mostly good. Are there others that are considered top quality fixed power at that $300-$400 price range?

Not knocking the other scopes but after putting about 500 rounds thru a 10X SWFA shooting gongs and rocks for practice I find them hard to beat for the money. Mine has been very repeatable on the turret and if I do my part it does it's job. This is on a practice 243 rifle that I shoot out to 800 yds. with no problem (IF I can read the wind right)

I have quite a few high end competition scopes: Leupold, NF, Sightron, etc.; and all have been returned for some problem. But neither of my 36X Weavers has ever had a problem of any kind. They sell new for around $350. Many used ones can be bought for less.

I just took a quick look and it seems like they're around $450. Did you mean the T-Series?

Re: Best $300-$400 Fixed Power Scope?

I'm considering the Weaver T 36x40 or the Sightron 36X42 for one of my rifles. Seems I can find a lot of people who are sure the Sightron is better, and an equal number of people who are sure the Weaver is better.

Seem to be about the same price, just over $400 but I'm guessing they were both under $400 2 months ago and may go back there soon.

Does anyone know where either of these scopes are made?

thanks,
Jerry
