Angle Eyepiece vs Straight?

I searched on this but came up empty. For spotting which is more popular or preferable, straight or angled? My thinking is angled would be more comfortable for extended glassing but the straight might be more natural for getting on a buck once spotted with bino's?

My use will be glassing for deer.

Any feedback?

thanks
pd

My preference is angled for shooting at paper from a bench or prone, and straight for hunting.

I'll bet your replies will be 60/40 to 70/30 pro straight.

I'm with essup. I prefer straight for hunting. Much easier target acquisition.

Guess I'm in the minority. I prefer angled for hunting. Might take a little getting used to as far as target acquisition (really isn't that bad), but it is more comfortable when sitting and glassing IMHO. Plus, when you are glassing, you can scan with your eyes and binos without the scope being right in front of your face.

That's my preference too.

For deer hunting either one might work fine. For sheep hunting, I prefer straight, as they've got 8X power eyes and the straight doesn't require me to be as exposed in order to examine their horns.

Yes, I agree. Once I got accustom to the angle spotter I love it and would never gp back to a straqight again. The angle can be rotated to anyone postion for comfortable, concealed viewing. All one has to do is to rotate the body to the proper postion and veiw away in comfort. One can eve lay down flat and simply look-up into the eye piece, perfect.
