Advantages or disadvantage of a Sunshade?

You wont notice much of a difference during the middle of the day with a sunshade, but when the light starts to fade is when a sunshade shines. I can easilly see 10-15 min longer after light fades with my sunshade on my scope than without it. I put a shade on everything I have with a 40mm bell or larger.

With my Loopy VX3 4.5-14x50 with a 1" tube and a shade I can see things well after my buddy with his same power VX-L has already stuck his in the case. I dont know if NF does it but Leupold is actually including sunshades with most of there VX3 upper end scopes now.
