56mm Nightforce scope mounting

I ordered Warne Maxima fixed rings (extra high) for mounting my new Nightforce NXS 3.5-15x56 to a Browning Xbolt 270 Winchester. Could I have gotten by with the high rings? Im planning on putting a lens cap on the objective. Can someone offer a suggestion for a good lens cap and the size that I need?

The scope is out for delivery. Getting the scope mounted tomorrow!
