Re: 22x enough for 1000yards?

If not buy a Davis 3x Davis optical booster for $100 (Zeiss Lens). Screws into eyepiece and crystal clear. That will boost it to about 28-30X

I have two of them.

Go to www.6mmbr.com and search in their daily articles for contact info.

Yes.
I believe the 5-22's and 6.5-20's, and 6-24's are able to be competitive in F-Class.
Now, I do not shoot F-Class, but I have shot a few 1K BR matches with 20x power scopes.

Not sure what effectively means, but if it means hitting the target, then I would say yes. I shoot 1000 yards with 10x (not ideal, but effective).

Re: 22x enough for 1000yards?

I shoot 1000yds. at least once a week and have found the nightforce very effective. I have tried it with a bushnell 6500 16 power and found it ok for silloettes but not good enough for paper. The 24 power leopold did the job but not as clear as the nightforce. If you are soley shooting paper a higher power may serve you better.

Yes. MY brother is doing it very well with his 3-17X USO SN-3 in F-class T/R, and I'm doing it with my 4-22X USO SN-3 in the Open Class.

Re: 22x enough for 1000yards?

For 22x would be plenty but if you would like we just took in 2 Nightforce scopes slightly used for 8-32x56m and a 12-42x56mm. I have not put a price in them yet but if you would be interested feel free to let me know.
