This seems like a great deal. Anyone know anything about this particular model?

Steiner Binos are of very high quality and of excellent value.
Just check before you buy that you are getting the water proof model. There is a bunch on the market that came from an over run on a military contract for a country who have little rain, hence the binos are not water proof, but are only water resistant. I found this out to my peril. Make sure you only buy those that are nirtogen purged.

For a little bit more money, also consider the Nikon ATB monarchs. Been extremely happy with mine and I would suspect optical clarity to be better then the Steiners. The Nikons are waterproof.

Another great buy are the Nikon EX Exteme binos. Just picked up a 12X50 and they are superb. The fact that I paid $145 is crazy. Will become my moderate to long range binos. A bit big but not very heavy.

No field experience yet as they are only a few weeks old.
