Just went yesterday. Got access to a new ranch. Huge town. Did really well. Most of the dogs were pretty small. Not sure if they were babies or what. But, not real big ones. Shot for about 6 hours. It was great!!

Just got back from SD, between dodging thunderstorms the shooting was pretty good. Not a great year because I only went through 500 rounds in 3 days but with the weather (over 5" of rain) it was still a good time. As stated above it was mostly small dogs.

Re: Who has went prairie dog hunting This year

Went out on Saturday for about an hour(very cold +2 deg c) and on Tusday for about 3 hours(was very windy). Had a blast launching the prairie poodles with my 204. Took a few misses to figure out the wind. The 39 gr blitz kings and the 40 gr noslers worked flawlessly with some excellent launch factor. Extended ranges were just over 300 yds. We get some pretty big sod poodles out here in Alberta and you can't mistake the loud "whump" when that little 20 cal bullet connects. All in all it was a great start and am hoping to head out next week with some great weather, more re-loads, and of course more time in the field.
