I tried the normal coyote rounds, 22-250, 243, 204 etc and they always left me watching at least one or tow coyotes a year hitting the ground then jumping up and running 5-600yards further to the timber.

Of course I also shot a fox with a 22-250 shooting 50gr.ballistic tip's and it took one shot hit the ground then it too started running off and took a folow up shot.
He's trying to preserve the pelts. A 6" inch hole on the off side won't do.

lil tank, I understand but i I have a even harder time skinning a coyote that I cant find than a coyote with a 6inch hole that I did.

I haven't used these, but Norma makes FMJ for both 7mm and 30 cal.

Or, you could try Barnes with an anticipated impact velocity below 1900 fps to minimize expansion.

Of course, minimizing damage suggests that you may increase the likelihood of having to do some tracking.

Let us know how it turns out.

    HEADSHOTS! No tracking necessary!

Better yet, headshot with a 6inch hole just below the tail.

Then, you just peel the pelt off like a sock.
