I too have had both the 4-16 and the 6-24 in FFP. I'd personally go with the 6-24 for out to 600 yards, but I prefer higher magnification. For under 100 yards the 6x might be a little much, but still manageable unless you have a fast moving target. I had the 4-16 on an AR for coyote calling and never had any intentions of shooting beyond 400 yards with it. You can always turn that 24x down to 16x
. I'd probably make my decision based off of how close your closest shot would most likely be instead of basing it off of your longest potential shot. If your closest shot will be under 75 yards, I'd certainly go for the 4-16, but that's just my .02.
