Does anyone have experience using this product to break-in a barrel to improve accuracy.

I've used it and would only recommend it if you have issue with your barrel. My .300 wby had accuracy issues but most of all it copper fouled like a pig. It took me close to an hour to clean the bore. Used the tubbs, accuracy improved but most of the fouling is minimal. I would look at TFF as tool, every tool has a use and a place. You must decide if its the right tool. You can also hand lap your barrel instead of fire lapping it.

I am unfamiliar with hand lapping (except with my wife). Will check that out.

I didn't use the roughest grit in the 308 kit in my old tikka T3 Varmint. But, I did feel noticeable difference in cleaning the barrel and less fouling. As for accuracy it did help, but I don't think I could quantify the improvement. This did shoot a 5/8" 10 shot 100 yard group with 175SMK and 41.5gr of varget in Winchester brass...so it didn't hurt anything...I keep saying I'll dig up that target and post a pic...

1: It is near impossible to improve the bore of a quality custom barrel when new.

2: It is almost always possible to improve factory bores.

With the above in mind, I am an advocate of TFF for bores that are rough for whatever reason and NOT an advocate of using them in quality barrels.

I have used them once on a rough barrel. My accuracy did not change at all, which was not bad to begin with. It fouled a bit less and cleaned up MUCH easier.

I got my guts up and used FF on a long in the tooth put through the ringer Lilja custom barrel. It restored original accuracy.

I did not use the full treatment. I did not use the roughest bullet group and only half of the others.

We'll see how long she hangs in there.

I used the full treatment on an unfired 338 RUM factory barrel. Wished I would have tested it first. It shoots lights out....

Ive got a stock savage barrel the shot around .75 and then lapped it and its .5 all day and the barrel feels good cleaning like a hart. Also es and sd tighted up. I wouldnt do a lapped barrel with it which would be silly but a stocker or worn down custom heck yeah.
