Townsend MT. Shoot Cancelled

With the current dryness and high fire risks, I have decided to cancel the Long Range Shoot scheduled for Saturday July 14th. The recent fire in the area caused by gunfire is a pretty good indicator we could have a problem. So at this time the Long Range shoots are on hold with hopes of some rain so we can still hold our shoot August 11th.

Thank You

Jeff

I continue to feel guilty about the cold wet spring we had, and embarrassed for whining about how fast and tall the grass is growing. I hope/pray you folks get relief soon.

Enjoy that!! It goes and comes around here. Last year was good but this year the lack of snow and rain are taking toll. My good buddy told me last night his 600 acres of hay is so dry he will only be cutting about 1/2 or less of it. This is first cutting and 1/2 of it wont make enough hay to buy the diesel fuel. Pretty sad deal for sure.

Broz
Even our cheatgrass hasn't turned yet, 8 inches of snow on the mountain about 3 weeks ago, grass belly deep on the tall horses, and barns starting to look like lost Aztec temples. The challenge here will be getting it knocked back to keep fire danger down if it turns this fall. First cuts are looking good for the guys that timed the storms right and didn't get soaked.

Thats a good deal Harper. Right now that wet hay even sounds great.
