Re: Top 10 Sniper Rifles

tx hunter-

I do not have any experience with them personally. However, I have read several articles including from magazines from the NRA and NAHC and every single one said their .5 MOA was BS....they were more like .2-.3 MOA!!! Very high praise from people who make their living testing rifles from major manufacturers as well as custom builders. Definately made me think about them building me one, now I just have to win the power ball

Re: Top 10 Sniper Rifles

Did I hear the TV wrong or did they say the M40 was chambered in 6.5x47?

Re: Top 10 Sniper Rifles

The one that they had on the show made by tactical rifles was in the 6.5x47 lapua. They make them in several calibers just for that show it was in the 6.5.

Greywolf

Those are the same kinds of things that I was hearing as well hope they are all true. I will be receiving mine some time this month. I will be sure to let you all know my experience. So far it has been very pleasurable dealing with them. The only thing I don't like is the wait but there is nothing that can be done about that no matter who you have to build it.

How long does a barrel last on something like the Cheytac? Is it enough to train a solder on, or to keep proficient??? That is one of the best things about the good old 308. won't overheat the way those big guns do.
Britz,
Did you see the Desert tactical arms? SHORT!! switch barrel/caliber bull pup. 243, 308, 300, 338LM all on one platform!
Desert Tactical Arms - Stealth Recon Scout

308 is 31.5" with a 22" barrel, the 338LM is only 37.5" with a 26" barrel.

I have fondled the system!! VERY SWEET!

I thot it looked like something the weldor next door put together with some pipe and leftover auto parts. Now the Barrett...that looks pure ISO9001 and professional.
