Tikka 270wsm to 300wsm
I know that my factory magazine works for both 270wsm and 300wsm. So if i rebarrel my 270wsm to a 300wsm, is that all that i need to do? Action will still work correctly?

yes rebarreling is all you will need to do, bolt face and mags will work fine. I have 300 wsm and have been thinking about goind to a 270 wsm. Why the change are you not getting the accuracy you want and figure a rebarrel anyway?

Re: Tikka 270wsm to 300wsm
Well I have a 300 wsm T3 lite I painted the stock but may be willing to trade the barreled action with you
.
I have about 100 + rounds through it. The best accuracy I have gotten is about .75 at 100 yards. Not sure 100% sure if I want to trade but let me know if you're intrerested, so we can think about it. Just wondering if you looked at what the 270 wsm can do. Those 169.5 wildcats with a, I think, a BC of .7 or more look impresssive. After that though you are stuck with 140/150 with the berger and BC tops out at .53 so that an issue thats holding me back

Yea i was looking at those wildcats, waiting for them to get stuff going again. The reason im looking at the 300wsm is im leary of shooting elk 700+ yards with the 270wsm. Although several guys say it can do it just fine.

Re: Tikka 270wsm to 300wsm
Well I recently was offered the opp to buy a rem 700 7 rem mag in a hs stock with a nice scope for cheap so I figure that will be my new long range shooter. I have been wanting a more comfortable recoiling round to carry for my tikka. I wanted to rebarrel to a 260 but the cost of getting a new bolt is 85% the price for a new gun. My only real option to reduce recoil is the 270 wsm. If you're interested in the trade let me know. I live in washington, near seattle, so maybe we could even just meet. Thanks
