Skim Bedding

Can we discuss skim bedding. Not sure what it is and can't find anything about it on the net. I'm getting a Sendero SFII which comes with the HS Precision stock that has a full length aluminum bedding block....everyone keeps saying have it skim bedded.

Thanks

Re: Skim Bedding

To the best of my knowledge that article is "skim" bedding. Fills voids and tightens things up.

Some people refer to skim bedding when you glass an action into a stock like the H-S Precision, cuz the bedding is "thin".

I'm not a holder to that wordage. If there is glass (epoxie) between the action and the stock, it is "glass bedded" - there is no specified thickness to call it skim bedded, or glass bedded... it's ALL glass bedded.

Re: Skim Bedding

Thanks CS, its just different names for the same thing. Now pillar bedding, and glue in refers to a different animal.
