Sendero

I have just puchased a Remington Sendero that is stamped with Sendero Special on the barrel.Does anyone know if there is a difference between the two (Sendero vs. Sendero Special)?The reason for asking is that this rifle has a 24" barrel instead of the advertised 26" barrel.
