I am impressed with the power of the 260. I have never owned this caliber, and always looked at it as a little paper puncher caliber. This video surprised me on how much thump that puny little paper puncher actually carries.

If the 260 rem is a paper puncher, then a 308 win has to be one too.

Great round but not what I have in mind for a long rangehunting rifle, look at the energy at 1000 yards compared to the big 7's , 300's and 338's If a guy wanted a long range deer rifle I think it is s nice fit but for a do all round for Elk,bear, moose I'll pass every time. The bigger rounds are just alot more capable in so many ways.

your right on the money with that quote... the 260 is for some LR varmints/predators and steel... my 338LM will be for the killing, and my new 7SAUM should be a hammer as well.

While I generally agree that bigger is better, don't disparage the 260 too much. Run the ballistics of the 130grain JLK (G1 BC = .593) going 3000fps and you will see that it carries sufficient energy to kill deer at 900 yards. Would I rather shoot my 300RUM at that range, yes. But the 260 could do it too.

Great video by the way.
