Rangefinding Reticle Question

On average ... how deep is a bull elk from the top of its back to the bottom of it's brisket (belly). I do own a Leica 1200 scan but I would like to have a range finding reticle installed as a back up for those instances where you cannot get a reading. Thanks guys.
