I killed my buck, dropped him at 60 yards with a pass through, with the first shot, walked up on him and he was still blinking so I put a second one in him at point blank and I recovered that bullet. I'm not sure what to think about that myself.
I personally would expect most bullets to blow up, or flatten out completely at that kind of range.

Of interest, my next 2 closest shots were with a 270, 150 NBTs at 2 smaller Alabama bucks no more than 50 yards. Both passed through. Closest was 8 yards.

This just goes to show how bullets behave differently.

I have never had a 150 NBT pass through a deer, but our bucks almost always go over 200 lbs here, so apples to oranges in a way.

With the 150 NBT's I almost always find the jacket, and what lead is left, under the far side hide. The damage to the deer is unreal though for a broadside rib shot.

My wonderful experiences with the 150 NBT's are what have me interested in the LRAB's.

I had a 130gr Sirocco (260 Rem) flatten out the size of a 50 cent piece and not exit with a broad side shot on a doe last year at about 65yds. Damnedest thing I ever saw LOL The Innards had turned to red jello though!

At PBR or close to it high velocity bullets will do weird things.
