nice picture with coyote and 220 swift

I shot this yote a couple months ago as well. Just could not help but post because its an awesome picture. In the background is the columbia river. I shot this yote with my swift and the 40g vlc at 250 yards. Bullet entered on shoulder and left a very nice size exit hole, but he was able to go about another 50 yards before I had to shoot him again. There was another yote running with him and I hit him a little far back. I tracked him for about 1.5miles before blood ran out.

Lucky You - Columbia River -there is some great fun to be had. One of the Large rivers I have not fished yet.

I suspect you do not have any fox squirrels out there, so you should get some of the tail hair from a fox or a coyote and tie you up some nice sized bucktail streamers. I find the squirrrel hair to be much superior to deer hair.

Another variation is tie a muddler minnow with hair wings rather than feather- doubles as a stonefly or sculpin depending on how you fish it.

Anyway, save one of those tails for tying flies. Spring will come soon.

I'm surprised that you had to shoot him twice. Have you tried the old fashion ballistic tip. 50gr has stopped alot of them in there tracks out of a 22-250. Congradulations
