Actually it has very little to do with the speed of the round and more to do with how much powder you burn. You will be using nearly 100 grains of powder to burn versus 40-50. That is where your barrel will burn out not the velocity in and of itself. Not trying to rain on your parade, just trying to help. Yes it will help if you let your barrel cool some between shots, no it is not a cure all. A 100 grain capacity case is a 100 grain capacity case and 100 grain flame is 100 grain flame.
Long range shooting is a process that ends with a result. Once you start to focus on the result (how bad your last shot was, how big the group is going to be, what your buck will score, what your match score is, what place you are in...) then you loose the capacity to focus on the process.
