My new big bore!

I took a H&R Buffalo Classic 45-70 and reamed it out to 45-120. I added the thickest Kick-Eez pad available, and a recoil reducer in the stock. It's almost 9 lbs and with full tilt loads will get right up with a 458 Lott.

Here's a load about equal to a 458 Winchester Magnum-

Hearing protection as well. FWIW, I have a 20% hearing loss in my left ear from shooting a .22lr rifle indoors for 3 months (500 rounds/week) with using the Sonic II ear plugs for protection so I could hear the range commands. Little did I know that they only offered a 6 db reduction in noise.:o

Now high pitch sounds (like crickets) can't be heard at all if I plug my right ear.

I have custom fitted earplugs in...but no glasses, I should have.

25 yards offhand-I was scared to fire another and ruin it!

I watched a fella shoot and measured a his 500 meter group on the rams @ bit better than 5" and he was using a tang peep sight on one of those smoke poles. Needless to say I was impressed.

I hope it brings velocity up a fair amount. Does it have instructions of how to apply? I'm smelling maybe 6000 ft lbs of energy?
