That is great footage and shooting. How did you get it out of there? 4 wheeler, horse? Any pictures of the bear after the fall or skinning?

I do have a couple of pics. It was nothing special other than the video. Was rubbed in the face and a little on the chest.

Re: My bear on the edge with the edge

Here is my big bear. It was shot with my 7mm wsm and the 180 berger at 3020 fps. I truly was not very satisfied with how he reacted when hit. I had two standing shots and three walking/runnin. The close standing shots were at 925 and the final hit was at 975 yards. I hit him 3 of the 5 times. I did get exits on two but he sure took them well.

Re: My bear on the edge with the edge

Thank you for sharing the pics too. The 7wsm is sure an accurate and powerful cartridge, I have one and it is miss-understood for a short action cartridge. Awesome. The bullet seems like it did it's job. Do you think it was just the toughness of the bear or that vitals weren't damaged enough to drop him on the spot. Dead is dead... It's not like this is a little whitetail? Comments appreciated. How far did the big one go?

I've heard that a bears resting/standing heart rate is so low, like 15 beats a second, that their body is filled with a lot of oxygen, so when the adrenaline surges they can fight death pretty hard. That's why shooting a charging Grizzly is useless unless you take the central nervous system out, head or spine shots. Sounds like long range hunting is a bit safer with a bear!I hope to get my chance sometime soon.
