I got him with a 30-378 and 180 grain Accubonds. The shot was right in the pocket. Dropped him on the spot.

No Thompson LR setup. I just put it together myself, had it accurized locally and got a drop chart.

I don't know if I'm happiest that the gun did so well, or that I found a place in Utah were I can hunt a 28" buck on a general OTC hunt.

Well, I can answer that for me....lots of guns do well. I'd opt for the latter to be happiest about!
