My 1,000 yard 2.684" group.

Just got back from our shooting spot on state land, and just printed my best 1,000 yard group. It was off a bipod and a rear bag only. It measured 2.684" using OnTarget software. The only variance was in the vertical axis. What do you guys think caused this? The height was 2.660" but the width was only 0.358".

I sure as hell wouldn't be to worried about it with a group like that. But, I'll entertain, which was the 1st,2nd and 3rd shot?

I have no idea. I did a few sighters to the right of the target in a small patch of dirt to ensure I'd hit paper then proceeded to print this group.

this is an 1,100 yard group from a couple of days ago. I shot more rounds than this on the target, but these were grouped together in their own quadrant of the target. I would like to think I shot these consecutivly, but I'm not sure. the 1,000 target I know they were consecutive because I checked after shooting those three, and those three only.
2.155" or .187 MOA with the same load and the same gun.

It could just be velocity differences between the shots. I wouldn't worry about it too much though when your basically shooting .25 MOA at a grand.

Actually I've seen this happen before, but much worse. The problem is that you're shooting at 1000 yards.

Great shooting buddy!
