Re: Long range Hammer
Get ahold of Black Diamond 408/Dave Viers, a member here, he specializes in building what you're looking for.
Here's his latest creation in .416 Viersco Mag.

BS.....All of those comparisons are with the standard ball ammo vs the new high tech, high BC 408 and 416 bullets.
Try punching in your computer the high tech, high BC 50 cal bullets at around 2800 fps...compare apples to apples

Re: Long range Hammer
50 BMG is a good calibre but you need a tight twist to stabalize those modern long high BC bullets.

You are probably right there, but I suspect that you would need a fast twist tube for either the 416 or the 408, also.

Re: Long range Hammer
The 408 CheyTac is build for those modern long bullets, they make theit barrels to stabalize those no longer available Lost river ballistics bullets
Check out this link:
GS CUSTOM BULLETS - Specifications for use
1:15 is enough in a 50 BMG to stabalize the GS Custom SP Match bullet.
The 720 grn .510 bullet is first from the left
