Great report and awesome buck. I am a big fan of everything that he has, the long tines, spread, typical main frame count. To me that is just the way they are intended to be, and make the really big ones that much more special.

Bill's right, that rack would give some of our deer neck and back problems.

I doubt that I will be posting up anything close, but our season fires up Saturday morning and we will be out there having a looksee.

Great Buck Kirby! Maturity certainly adds character to the trophy quality. Congratulations on the hunt and thanks for sharing the story and pics. You constantly point out your reasoning for passing-up immature animals and not taking high-risk shots in heavy winds; your success and the quality of your trophies continue to prove your points.

Great write up. I really enjoyed the story. Great buck too. I was after a good mule deer buck this year. I think some one else got to him first. Good luck on the hunt with Shawn.
