Re: Lets see your berger kills!

2012 Rifle Season opening weekend.
168 Berger Hunting VLD from a 7WSM at 3,019fps. The shot was 622 yards. The deer was quartering away when the bullet entered low behind the next to last rib. It went thru his stomach, liver, & lungs. There was no exit hole on the off side. I did find the rear half of the jacket and a small fragment of the core just beneath the hide on the opposite side. It looked like a small bomb went off inside his chest cavity. I knew he was hit good by watching the impact thru the scope. He only went about 40yds from where I shot him.

Trevor, I'm really digging that rifle you have there (except for the right handed part ). Very nice rig.

Great shooting BTW.

Re: Lets see your berger kills!

Who's going to be the first to update this for the 2013 season? I have been finding some of the powders I needed to get started loading so I hope to use some Berger's this year.

Soon, a APS Raptor LRSS Turn Key System in 338 AX. Time to step up my game. Should be finished by hunting season 2014!

We will be whacking and stacking speed goats, and elk in Oct. Nothing before that but we will take some pics and maybe video if it works out.

Aoudad meat is pretty good, its a little coarser grained meat kinda hard to compare it to anything but for the most part its very good. My Dad Killed a big ram last year in the morning. While getting it quartered up my dad cut out a back strap and tenderloin for the evening meal. That evening we had a whole chicken, deer sausage other odds and ends and the aoudad it took the guys at the table to warm up to but when it was all said and done there was no aoudad meat left over for later.
