I'm surprised there isn't more interest in this topic, what there sayin is that you've got a weather station and ballistic computer in one unit. All you have to do is input range and angle and it spits out a fire solution and automatically corrects it for changing weather conditions. Sounds pretty fantastic to me.

I'm no expert, but reading the wind is more than just holding up a gauge from your shooting position.

The art seems to be in one's ability to understand what the wind is doing over the entire flight path which may be radically different at various points along the way.

Hence, you need to arrive at an adjusted value for the wind taking all those factors into account.

How does this solution address that challenge?

Thanks
Richard

Sure we all know that judging wind is more art than science, but the fact that this device will input all of the atmospheric conditions such as temp, humidity, and pressure automatically into the ballistic program without having to input them from one device to another is pretty amazing.

Re: Kestral with Horus Atrag???

Ok.

If you put it that way and you're talking about extreme ranges or variations in elevation/weather that make enough of a difference. ..or possibly, competitive shooting, then it sounds interesting.

Around here, elevation, weather, and distances don't vary enough to bother.

You might just need a differnt range card for cold or hot weather.

Then, there's always the wind to contend with. I assumed that's what the device/program was attempting to do which would be fine if it sends a probe downrange to report back.

Out here in Northern CA any shooting done beyond 800 yards needs to have the current weather input if you want to hit what your shootin at.

I have been looking at these as a viable option for backpack/mountain hunts. Very small and light weight units replacing a few devices! Was hopeing to get more feedback before droping the $$cheese.
