hunting with a-max bullets

Hey guys, i shoot a savage .243 and i've been loading 105gr a-max bullets lately. I've got the drops smoothed out and have shot my load to 735y with moa accuracy, although i probably wont take a shot at a deer that far with this rifle. So my question is, how far out would u trust this bullet on deer? What kind of experiences do you have with a-max'es for hunting?
Thanks in advance!!

Re: hunting with a-max bullets

I'd trust the 105s at 500 yds better than I do at 50 yds. and 500 yds would be as far as I personally would go. For me hunting with this bullet in a 243 is like hunting elk with a 308, yes it will get the job done but shot selection is CRITICAL. I just don't think of the Amax as a bone crunching bullet, but it works wonders going through the boiler room.
