What do you think the most inexpensive to reload right now would be.

As do solids. Over the years though we've pushed 17 Rem's, 220 swift and 204's to the point wa saw soft points shuck off jackets or literally just explode before they hit 200yds.

Very few bullets are designed with 3800fps or higher velocities in mind.

    6mm Rem or .243win.

What would be your intended purpose of a rifle chambered in such a caliber?

Extended range shooting with a very heavy 6mm barrel blank I have laying around.

Shooting what? Steel? Deer? Coyotes? Do you want something you can put a few thousand rounds through or something you'll burn out in 250?

Coyote, small varmints and targets. I'd rather not burn it out in less than 500 rounds.

Then go with a 6-284. The hotter stuff you would be lucky to get 4-500 rounds before it's done.
