Re: Got my new Bench Source annealer
I did both. The rapid cooling does no benefit to brass, but I did the bulk into water, just because I've always done it that way. Then did some tests with the tempillaq from the shoulder to the base. It didn't melt any further down the base if it went into water or not. Of course just letting it cool as opposed to dry, makes the reloading process faster. 6mmBR has an great write up on annealing and they considered a good annealing process to be one that didn't use water at all.

I always used my air compressor to blow out the casings once out of the water. Thanks for the replies.

Re: Got my new Bench Source annealer
The next batch of annealers won't be available until June and their price has gone up to $519.
That's what I was told when I called last week inquiring about the price and availability.

Got mine yesterday. Great looking unit with great machining detail. Have not used it yet but I will soon. When I ordered they did mention a price increase as they were running into higher production costs than was projected.

Re: Got my new Bench Source annealer
I ran mine for about 45 min, setting up and annealing 350 cases. I couldn't tell by the weight that I had used any... So I suspect it will run quite a while.
